About

Jill Geller, LCAT, ATR-BC, RYT

I’ve been a New York State licensed, nationally board certified Art Therapist (LCAT, ATR-BC) for nearly 20 years. I’ve practiced Art Therapy as a primary clinical therapist in a partial-hospitalization program, assisted in the opening of a community art therapy center in New York City and have consulted for nonprofit agencies serving various populations in and around Manhattan.

Currently, in addition to running StudioJLG, a private Art PyschoTherapy Practice for individuals of all ages in White Plains, NY, I work as an Art Therapist with The Art Therapy Project, a NYC based nonprofit mental health organization, the Scarsdale Edgemont Family CounseIing Agency (SFCS) in Scarsdale, NY, and Pleasanvtille Wellness Group in Pleasantville, NY.

Common themes addressed in therapy sessions include: depression, anxiety, hopelessness, managing stress, working through acute and long term trauma, challenges in relationships, infidelity, grief, and the general search for life’s meaning and definition of Self.

Along with traditional talk therapy, when desired, applicable and useful, I weave art making with elements of my regular meditation and yoga practice, including relaxation techniques, visualization, and breath work. All of these tools combine to provide a whole person therapeutic approach to healing, highlighting the critical importance of self awareness and the mind/body connection.
